MoAD utilizes art, culture, and history to tell the story of the African Diaspora in order to foster a greater understanding of human history. This knowledge helps students respect the many cultures present in today’s classroom.

MoAD and the San Francisco Unified School District are working together to make sure that middle school students in the San Francisco Bay Area have an opportunity to see the connections between people from different parts of the world through history and art.

A group of SFUSD middle school teachers is developing middle school social studies and art curriculum that uses MoAD as a primary resource. Through this curriculum, MoAD will provide Bay Area educators with a tool for integrating the African Diaspora into their classroom curriculum.
