Art As We See It – Notable African American Sculptors of 19th and 20th Century: Part 2
In this week’s Art As We See It, MoAD Docents look at sculptures by black artists from the 19th and 20th Century. In this segment, they will particularly focus on the works of Augusta Savage, Sargent Johnson, and William Artis. They searched several digital public domain archives to bring you selected works from each artist, and they invite you to join their conversation via chat as they discuss esthetics, cultural context, and the artists’ captivating lives.
