About
Join us every Second Saturday for THRIVE @ MoAD Community Day with free admission to all our exhibitions. Across the globe, museums are increasingly being recognized as having an important role to play in promoting personal and social well-being in partnership with the healthcare industry. Studies have shown that engagement with art and culture aid in brain function, processing trauma, and reducing the stigma of mental illness.
WALK-IN TICKETS ARE WELCOME AND AVAILABLE.
The fall season has begun with two new exhibitions now on view at the museum:
The New Black Vanguard: Photography between Art and Fashion | Curated by Antwaun Sargent
Join us at 2pm in the MoAD Salon for a special screening of the documentary The Color of Care followed by a discussion about disparities in Black Maternal Health Care with Dr. Joy Cooper, Asmara Gebre CNM, MS, Dr. Nailah Thompson, and Linda Jones, Doula.
Produced by Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions and directed by Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning director Yance Ford, The Color of Care chronicles how people of color suffer from systemically substandard healthcare in the U.S. and how COVID-19 exposed the tragic consequences of this inequity. Using moving personal testimony, expert interviews, and disturbing data, the film reveals the impact of racism on health, serving as an urgent warning of what must be done to save lives.
