About

MoAD will celebrate the national observance of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday as a Day of Service, providing FREE admission to the museum and programs throughout the day. Come together to celebrate the life and achievements of one of our nation’s greatest heroes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Through film, art, and musical performances, our special guests will help us to reflect on the importance of free speech and diverse communities. We'll be celebrating Carnival this year, so join and  explore our special exhibitions, EN MAS': Carnival and Performance Art of the Caribbean, OTRA MAS': 40 Years of Carnaval in San Francisco, and MoAD Emerging Artists presents Simone Bailey: Let There Be Darkness.

Don’t miss one of the most popular celebrations and our special exhibitions – see it for FREE today!
