Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and MacArthur genius Suzan-Lori Parks (Topdog/Underdog) is one of the most exciting and thought-provoking playwrights in American drama today. She adapted Zora Neale Hurston’s classic novel Their Eyes Were Watching God for television, and her adaptation of the classic opera Porgy and Besswon a Tony for best musical revival in 2012. Her newest play, Father Comes Home From The Wars (Parts 1, 2, & 3) is an epic set during the Civil War.
"Her dislocating stage devices, stark but poetic language and fiercely idiosyncratic images transform her work into something haunting and marvelous." – TIME magazine, which named Parks amongst 100 Innovators for the Next New Wave
