About
OPEN MIC THURSDAYS continue. Join us in the Yerba Buena Gardens from 4:00-6:00 pm PDT for an All-Star edition of the MoAD Open Mic series. Launched in April 2018, MoAD Open Mic has been a platform for stellar poets and artists from around the Bay Area and beyond. In celebration of the last three years of Open Mic poetry, join host Nia McAllister for an evening of spoken word showcasing a phenomenal lineup of past featured poets.
Featured poets include: Daniel B. Summerhill, Darius Simpson, Donté Clark, Imani Cezanne, James Cagney, Jeanne Powell, Landon Smith, Lyn Patterson, Maud Alcorn, Tayleur Crenshaw, Reggie Edmonds, and Yeva Johnson.
Please note that this is an outdoor in-person event that will not be livestreamed. A recording of the program will be available for viewing after the event.
Open Mic All-Stars is proud to be a part of Yerba Buena Day, a full day of programming in partnership with the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District and the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. Following this event, MoAD and the Contemporary Jewish Museum will be co-presenting Diasporic Futurism: Taking Up (Outer) Space, a performance by GLTTR Collective co-founders Leah King and Juan Carlos Rodriguez Rivera.
