Emerging Artists Opening Reception 5-8pm | Artist's Talk with Tim Roseborough 6:30pm
As the first exhibition of the Emerging Artists Program, local artist Tim Roseborough translates MoAD’s mission, focus, and four themes into his unique Englyph writing system, a conflation of "English" and "Hieroglyphics." This writing system takes its inspiration from hieroglyphics: the hermetic language system of Egypt, and weds it to the ancient tradition to contemporary digital culture.
Roseborough is a digital artist whose work has been featured in numerous publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle, Artforum and SF Examiner. He has performed and showcased at the 2010 and 2012 ZERO1 New Media Biennials, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and SOMArts Cultural Center, among others. He has also been awarded residencies at the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley and the School of Visual Arts in New York.
This program is presented in conjunction with Third Thursdays in Yerba Buena
